The Consortium for Undergraduate International Business Education (CUIBE) will hold its annual spring meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, February 19-21, 2009. Hosted by Northeastern University, the theme of the meeting will be “The Value of Majoring in International Business.”

THURSDAY, February 19

Optional: 6:30 pm, meet at hotel lobby to form groups for dinner at any of the many restaurants in the area

FRIDAY, February 20

8:00 - 8:45 am Breakfast, Batterymarch Conference Center, 2nd floor of Hilton Hotel

8:45 - 10:30 am Presentations and Discussion

  1. Fernando Robles, George Washington University, Assessing Global Orientation Competency in the Undergraduate Business Capstone Course  (30 minutes)
  2. Donald Rogers, Rollins College, The Value of Values:  Assessment of Values and Ethical Reasoning Skills in an Undergraduate International Business Major (30 Minutes)
  3. Discussion (30 minutes)

10:30 - 11:00 am: Break and Coffee

11 am - 12:30 pm Open Forum

  1. What is the value of a [insert name of your institution here, e.g., Rollins, Illinois State, UMSL, etc] IB education? Please prepare to contribute your school’s position to the discussion
  2. What is the value of an undergraduate IB education? Can we come up with a common view that can be articulated for parents and students in a very short period of time with simple language?
